Donala Arsenic Removal Facility

In 2015, the Donala Water and Sanitation District was thrown a bit of a curve ball where arsenic limits exceeded discharge limits at the wastewater treatment facility.  Rather than treat for arsenic at the wastewater treatment facility, it was decided to treat for arsenic at the water source.  In light of that, GMS, Inc. designed and provided construction oversight for a new residuals management facility that would remove the arsenic from the ground water prior to being placed into the distribution system.  This project from beginning to end took approximately two (2) years, which included processing through El Paso County, through the building permit phase, to final construction and completion.
